En estos mercados Deutsche Messe AG y sus filiales organizan primordialmente ferias para los sectores que también están representados en la feria de Hannover: técnica de información y telecomunicación, construcción de maquinaria y equipo, electrotecnia y electrónica, protección del medio ambiente, construcción de vehículos y agronomía. Cada vez más se utiliza la tecnología adquirida desde hace 20 años en los mercados principales en nuevos y más amplios sectores industriales, de modo que también en el futuro se puede disponer de una oferta adecuada a las necesidades, de amplio espectro, tanto para clientes existentes como también para los nuevos.
Un foco que marca futuro en las actividades feriales en el extranjero es el desarrollo de un nuevo recinto ferial en Pudong, una zona económica especial en Shanghai. Junto con las sociedades feriales de Düsseldorf y Munich, Deutsche Messe AG construye aquí un complejo con cuatro pabellones de exposición y una superficie bruta total de 45.000 m², así como 10.000 m² al aire libre. Este recinto ferial se puede ampliar hasta 200.000 m² de superficie de pabellones.
